 "Laughable!!!" 2009-08-31
By C. Lamb (Europe)
The Gillette Fusion Power and The Gillette Fusion product range is a joke.

Coating your face will cold crappy canned goo gel and running 5 dull blades across your face is not fun.

Guys out there need to realise that after the second blade passes over the skin, the hair is already shaved down as close as it will go depending on if your are shaving with, across or against the grain. All the other 3 blades are doing is shaving off another layer of skin making you far more prone to shaving irritations and razor burn. Iam sorry guys, Its all a gimmick!!!

The Gillette Fusion is big and clumsy. The head is so big that you can get no control over where you are shaving. Gillette have tried to account for this by putting that single blade trimmer on the back of the razor. I found this to be totally hopeless as it is very hard to get the correct angle while trying to trim sideburns.

The 5 blades are spaced far to close together. This means the razor drags over the skin and actually pulls the hair out at the root rather than shaving it off. That is why a lot of men prefer the power version to the manual version. The vibrating version masks the fact that your facial hair is being pulled out rather than cut. I also find that because the blades are so closely spaced together it can be a nightmare to clean. Hair and shave gel gets clogged in between the blades very easily.

To top this all off Gillette are charging £2.50 for a replacement cartridge. What a joke.

 "A Nice Upgrade" 2009-04-05
By Jason (Springfield, IL)
It's a razor. It does its job well. I previously used the Mach3 lineup including both manual and power. The primary advantages of switching to the Fusion are (i) you get the trimmer on the back and (ii) you get a closer shave on the first pass. The disadvantages are (i) fusion blades will not work on the Mach3 handle and (ii) you will pay a bit more for these blades compared to the Mach3. If you shave all the time and you like new technology, I recommend the switch. If you shave only periodically and think all razors are created equal, stick with what you have.

"A close shave, long lasting" 2009-03-27
By Kiwi Bob (St Lucia)
I received the razor promptly, and have been using the first blade for 3 weeks now. This is a long time, as previously Mach 3 blades lasted only 7-9 days.

The small blade on the back seems a bit gimicky, and I haven't made much use of it. I am not sure how much use the battery vibration is, as a couple of times I have forgotten to turn it on, and it seems to work just as well.

A great razor, worth the purchase.

"better razor than the mach 3" 2009-02-22
By Amazon Shopper
This razor works much better than the mach 3 razors and you get a much cleaner shave with it. The blades seem to last a little longer than the mach 3's by almost 1 1/2 times. I have found that that single blade on the opposite side of the razor head is fairly useless as the angle on it makes it difficult to shave.

"Close to Medieval torture Device " 2009-01-02
By AA (USA)
My dad has resisted changing his 40 year old razor and single safety blade but I iniststed on buying him Fusion power when he was visiting last time. I thought the new technology will give him a better shaving experience and make him change his mind till he complained that the the razor actually "pulls" the hair out not cut it!!

I couldn't believe it and tried it on my own. And bou was it painful!

I used warm towel on my face, moisturizer and even a little massage to soften the skin but the moment vibrating Fusion touched my face, I yelped like a puppy.

The darned thing really stings! It pulls at each hair like what a medieval plier would.

In the end I used a "Longs" disposable to get a smoother, better and much quicker shave.
