Compare the price to retail stores, and you find out that this is a good deal, only with subscribe and save. My limit for razors is <$1.50 / razor and this makes the cut (ha ha, and yes, you should do the math). The shave is comparable to a Schick Extreme-3, with a slightly better lubrication strip. Your whiskers will actually rinse off the blades, unlike the generic cheap ~$1/razor from Target. Also, since the blade orientation is flatter, you need to hold it at less of an angle to your face, unlike the more curved cartridges (Schick). I use each razor ~3 times before I toss it, but YMMV.



If you are slick, you can take the blade cartridge off the handle and try to put it in on a Sensor Excel handle (It looks the same to me). Finally, my girlfriend seems to find these to be somewhat acceptable substitute for her razor(legs, what are you thinking..), so it is saving money.



UPDATE: Jan 9, 2008: Now the package is 8 razors only (x 2 packages), which is a good deal with Subscribe and Save. Previously, Gillette had a "get 2 free" per package making each package 8+2 (x 2 packages), which was an AMAZING DEAL. Still, these are great razors.

I use 2 blade disposables for years, and decided to give these a try. you get a safer shave, with far fewer nicks and cuts than a 2 blade disposable, BUT I don't think you get a closer shave since my "5-o'clock shadow" shows up after lunchtime, not dinner. As long as I can find these close to a 2 blade price, I'll probably buy these 3 blade again. worse comes to worse, I can always shave again before dinner. This shaver is much easier to clean then most disposables because there is very little plastic behind the blades, making it easy for water to flow over and clean the blades from in front and behind, thus extending the useful life of each disposable. the long grippy rubber handle is a nice feature for confident control, but the size of the shave head means you can not use it in your nose.

I am a facial and head shaver, I have allways used my Gillette sensor excel to shave and allways nicking my self.

When the last of the refills went dull i decided to try something else, so i tried the Schick extreme 3 razor did a great job shaving my knoggin, but not my face.

So i did a little research on the internet with no luck.

On a whim I went to my local Meijer Super Store and purchased a 8 pak of Gillette sensor 3 diposiables went home and tried them out WOW !!! what a great razor absolutely no nicks or razor burns or any problems what so ever.

The Gillette Good News razors are the only brand of disposable razor without a lubricating strip that give me a close shave. I've always had a tough beard, and my 5 o'clock shadow usually shows up around noon or so, but the Gillettes really do better than the competition. I also find that I get more shaves out of these razors than some of the other cheaper brands, of course it helps if I shave with the grain as opposed to against it.



I recommend the Gillette Good News disposable razors for their close shaves and durability.

I've used single blade razors for years. NO more after using these razors. I used to get razor burned, with nicks and cuts everywhere and a great burn after putting aftershave on. These razors cut smoothly and without grabbing my skin. They don't ""clog"" up either. With a simple pass under running water, its cleaned right out. I'm very happy with these razors. I have tried many razors over the years. Both men's and women's, and both the throw-away disposables and the ones w/ the fancy handles and disposable cartridges.

For most products, I buy the "store" brand because when it comes to shampoo, for example, or pain relievers, if the store brand says "compare to Tylenol" or "compare to Tgel" or something like that, you can rest assured it's the same formula and you get more bang for your buck.

Not so the case w/ Daisy razors. I have gotten store brands (at different stores) of this razor - in similar pink styles, but half the performance. The knock-offs rust faster, dull faster, and are harder to clean.

Immediately after shaving, I run the razor under hot water and brush thoroughly with a nail brush to make sure all rust-causing gunk is removed. I can make a Daisy razor last for over 2 months before the blade gets dull or I start knicking myself. The white strip is more than decoration - it actually makes the shave smoother. A great double-blade razor that is long-lasting and affordable for a disposable.

I have the curse of every dark-haired girl with any ethnic background - profound leg hair. Each hair is thick enough to string a tennis racket and I just don't feel clean unless I have thoroughly shaved my legs and no stubble is showing.

I don't care much for the hollow handle that drips water everywhere, or for the cheesy pink color and embedded flower pattern, but the blades can't be beat.

I have tried different razors, those marketed for men and women, and I've tried single, double and triple blade disposable razors, and non-disposable varieties. The smooth lubricating strip at the top and the perfect distance between the strip and the blades makes for a perfect shave that does not involve accidentally peeling off a strip of skin - carrot-peeler style, as I've had happen with other razors.

As I mentioned above, the crazy grooves all over the handle and the back of the unit catch water and then spill all over your hands and legs as you shave, rinse and continue shaving - it's enough to drive you crazy!

I like to be a smart shopper and there are many times I will opt for the "store brand" at the grocery store, but not when it comes to these razors. The store brand versions of the Daisy Razors bend too easily and you end up accidentally stripping off parts of yourself along with the hair - makes for a painful, long cut before you realize what you've done.

It's beyond me why they can't make these in black - or at least yellow, without the embedded flowers and other features that grab every droplet of water so you can spill it on yourself again... but for now, it's the best I've ever used.

I have tried other disposable razors and thought that the Gillette Daisy plus was better than most. It provides a very smooth shave, especially with the double blade system. The only thing I didn't care for was the moisture strip along the top of the blade. It didn't make for a smoother shave in my opinion. In fact, I'd prefer not to have it at all. I shave with soap, so the moisturizing strip helps the razor guide smoothly over my legs. I think it's kind of silly to make the razor pink. I think it should be lime green. Then it'd really look like a daisy.

Sadly, this razor is incompatible with me. I have never had any problem with the Mach line of razors and I cannot recall when I cut myself last time with them. However, the CustomPlus always leaves me bleeding. Unlike the Mach, there is a really uncomfortable feeling of scrapping my skin off with this blade and nasty burning afterwards. This is probably the most uncomfortable kind of razor I have ever used.

I'm trying to remember when the hormone surge kicked in and I started shaving, but memory fails. Perhaps as a frosh in high school. In any case, I do recall starting out with a double-edged blade that, if one was careful, could double as a tool for slicing open cardboard boxes or rasping paint off window panes. I had a brief flirtation with electric razors, both the rotary and rectangular-head types, but they performed inconsistently when challenged by my heavy beard - five o'clock shadow at two. Besides, they're useless for removing paint off glass. I graduated to injector blades, and then to single-blade cartridges. Both were acceptable, and I stayed with them for years, even during my bearded phase when I still had to neaten the edges. Finally came the greatest invention since the double-cheeseburger/large fries combo - the twin-blade skin scraper. The ultimate form of this miracle for sissies who can't dry shave with a KA-BAR knife is the disposable twin razor with "comfort strip". And the best one I've found is Gillette's CUSTOM PLUS DISPOSABLE RAZOR, SENSITIVE SKIN, either the pivot or fixed head. (I like the concept of a disposable anything that will top off those landfills with long-enduring plastic waste to bedevil future generations, especially if it results in toxic seepage.)

I can hear you thinking, "Now, 'ang on a minute, guv." If a double-blade works so well, wouldn't the recently introduced triple-blade do better? (Will they come out with a quad-blade, do you think?) No, actually not, at least on my handsome mug. Sure, the triple works perfectly well on my legs and underarms, but it fails to get with ease those awkward spots right under the nostrils and the lower lip. And who needs to pay extra for that hassle first thing in the AM before dragging off to the old 9 to 5? The CUSTOM PLUS is light and maneuverable, with a spiffy, ridged, rubberized grip that stays in my hand even when I slip in the shower. I can get two shaves with each razor before the "comfort strip" wears out, but that's OK since the macho 32-pack lasts over two months. And besides, who wants to live that long, anyway?
