I recently purchased this razor, and it does a better job than most. I was not impressed with the condition of the packaging when it arrived. The package was dirty and taped-up. The razor was fine however, and the blade is unique. I wish Amazon had just replacement blades for this razor...

I have 3 of these razors! Why? I don't have the foggiest notion. All I know I've used one for over a year now and was changing the blade after 5 to 7 shaves. I used to be an electric user, but this one is 100% better. Just for a test, I put in a new blade on the first of April, 2007, and it was still shaving great on the 30th of April! I changed it anyway and will just use one blade per month. Others who buy and use this may have different results, but this is how it works for me. The handle is just right in the hand and feels like a "MAN"S" true razor. A good grip can be maintained even with wet hands. Shaving leaves the face feeling very smoothe. Not very much irritation if any for me. Blades change very easily and quickly. It's a great razor but hard to find in your local stores if at all. I'm sticking to this one and tossing my Gillette and Schick in the trash. After all, 5 blades is overshave anyway. I've not had a knick with this razor either. the blade is very sharp but I'm not going to press my luck and try to cut myself. The "G" and "S" blades don't last more than 5 shaves for me and then start to pull and irritate. I also have some of the disposables but they don't feel as good in the hand. They are great for travel, but I just pack one of my regular ones. They are good for showing someone how good they are as a "sample' I give them to someone who is tired of the "G" and "S" ones or a diehard electric user. Get yours today. :)

The Sensor Excel is hands down the best razor I have ever used in my life. I have been using it over 10 years now and still it's the perfect razor. I one time bought Sensor replacement cartridges and they are excellent but the Sensor Excel cartridges are definitely much better. I have tried Gillette's newer razors - Mach3, Fusion - and they are OK but I wouldn't want them for daily shaving. But the Sensor Excel is amazing. Whether I have very little stubble or a few days growth, this razor shaves PERFECTLY smooth, EVERY time. Even when the blades are dull, this razor shaves better than most razors with most new blades. In my experience, everyone I know either loves or hates this razor, but many love it, and those of us who love it don't want anything else, ever. I will be very angry at Gillette if they do away with this razor (and I think they have). If that happens, I will buy a Panasonic wet/dry shaver and never use a blade again.

This is one of the best blades on the market. They are slowly replacing them with more blades. STOP! It's too much. There are guys out there, like me, where 2 blades are perfect.



I only gave it 4 stars because for some strange reason it came with a 3 blade razor attached to the body. But, when I looked at the extra 2 razors in the back, they had only 2 blades. Unbelievable.

Two blades are all one needs to get a close shave. Razors with 3,4 or 5 blades are a waste of money, and a marketing ploy to get consumers to spend more. This is an adequate razor.

That's right. You don't get the beautiful 2 blade razor. You're getting a 3 blade. Now, I prefer (meaning my face) a 2 blade razor. I don't understand all of these 4, or even 5 blades. It's out of control. They put out great products. Just make sure that you get what you want.

I have had the original Sensor for almost 12 years now, and it still works the best of the ones i have tried. The Sensor 3 blades nick me up more, the Mach 3 again tends to nick me up more as well, and any of the store brand replacement heads for this Sensor just do not work out as well as the original sensor/sensor XL heads. The two blades seem to give me the closest shave without irritation, and after 12 years that alot of shaving. Don't waste money on more expensive newer models, if you have this one or can get this one, blades are cheaper and it does better.
