The Mach 3 in 2001 became my new razor after the regular Sensor. However, even a great shave comes at a great price..... the expense was too much-wow. I wondered just how different the Mach 3 was to its prior bud, the Excel. No difference. Really.
It did just as good of a job. And at a cheaper price, I have decided to stay with the Sensor.
Caution: If you have sensitive skin, please use something unscented or non-foamy (shaving cream). My face dried out using this with the 'cheap' foam Gilette stuff. Use a gel.

This razor gave a nice, smooth shave with good handling. Because of the rubber grip on the sides, it didn't slip or cut. My wife used it also, and said it worked great on her legs. I'll no longer use my Schick Tracer FX, because I really liked the Gillette Sensor Excel.

I got this razor for my husband and I don't think it left much of a lasting impression. He used it, but when he went on a business trip he packed his usual disposable razors. He said it gave a nice, smooth shave, but he'd only buy it if the price was comparable to the disposables. I thought he'd have liked it more than he did, but he didn't seem to prefer it to any other razor.

The Gillette Sensor Razor is an excellent product. It gives an incredibly close shave. It doesn't leave behind the rough razor stubble that most razors do. I'll certainly purchase this product again.

This razor I thought was very good. It shaved very close, my only problem was that it seemed to grow back fast. Although all razors cut you the box said that it's supposed to have very good protection, I still get cut often.

This is my first razor, seeing that I am only thirteen. Shaves pretty well. Leaves no irritation on the skin. The color is great, the pink color adds more of a feminine touch to it. And now, you can use the venus divine cartridges for the regular venus. There are only to cons to this product:
1. The handle is hard to grip, especially if your hand are wet and all of the soap/gel didn't wash off of your hands. Ideally, a larger grip would be better.
2. I have cut myself before. Sure, thats just part of shaving. But the advertising says that it offers unbeatable protection. There are plenty of other razors out there that have better protection.
Overall, you should only buy this product if you don't mind occasionaly nicking yourself and you don't care about the protection. This razor offers a close shave, no doubt about it.

I have tried most razors on the market from older dual edge, single blade razors to the new three blade disposable razors (I have not tried any of the new quad-configuration razors, however.) Of all the razors I have tried, my overall favorite is the Gillette Sensor Excel. The combination of shaving closeness and relatively long blade life make this razor a good choice for most people.
The bottom line is that these blades provide an optimum, smooth shave and last a long time, which is why I continue to use them despite the relatively high cost. The most economical way to buy these blades is in the 15-cartridge pack; so if you like the Sensor Excel like I do, this package is the best value you will find. I give the Sensor Excel five stars for technical merit, even though the replacement blades are quite expensive.

I received 4 packs of 5-each blades, rather than the advertised 2 packs of 10-each. This is not so much of a problem as the fact that one 5-pack was manufactured in Brazil for the Brazilian market (no English on the package), and one of the blades in that pack is a Sensor 3, identified on the front of the box as "Experimente". I find this kind of substitution irritating, as the effort to return the order is not justified, and DAB Nutrition is probably counting on that.

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewers. I'm sure there are those who like the "rumble strip", but it catches on my skin and I nick myself every time. The simple two-blade sensor is the best razor I've used.

I couldn't agree more with Paul Thomas "thepablo." Like him, I've tried all kinds of razors, inluding Gillette's newer designs, such as the Fusion. For me, the soft rubber "rumble strip" that Gillette adds to these newer models just gets in the way and prevents me from getting as close a shave as I get with the good old Sensor. Another problem with the Gillette Fusion is the location of the pivot point between the handle and the cartridge; it's just plain awkward. That, coupled with the ribbed rubber strip, creates major shaving frustration. In any case, Gillette makes the best blades, at least for thick barbed wire beards like mine. Schick blades are garbage by comparison. They seem dull even when they're brand new, which leaves me a nicked-up, bloody mess. Gillette, I beg you, please don't stop making my tried-and-true Sensor blades!!!

I have been shaving my head for about a dozen years now. When I started, I just used the same blades I was using on my face: Gillette Sensor. Every once in a while, I try something new. Perhaps it's in my christmas stocking. Maybe it's on super sale. Maybe it's all I can find at Costco. Regardless, they have all been failed experiments and I must go back to the plain, old Sensor.
Sensor Excel. Quattro. Mach 3. I have tried many things. What do all of these (and many more) have in common? They all have the little rumble strip before the blades. The rumble strip (i'm sure there is a more formal name) probably results in a smoother shave for many people, but for me the result is simply a bloody head.
If Gillette every stops making these, I don't know what I will do. They do a fine job on my head and face and never leave me bloody.

Being a very happy Gillette Sensor Excel user from the time it came out, I bought the Gillette MACH3 Turbo after reading all the hyped-up PR ads and watching the very good TV ads. I found that the MACH3 Turbo did fine on the strait-aways, but couldn't handle the tight turns around my chin and under my jaw. I soon found that I had to go very slow in those places to prevent nicks and cuts. Also, I really didn't find the MACH3 to shave any closer then my Gillette Sensor Excel. In fact the Sensor Excel out performs the MACH3 Turbo around my chin and under my jaw. I thought the MACH3 Turbo would be the Razor I would shave with every day at home, and I would keep my old Sensor Excel in my travel shaving kit to use when I was away on my camping and fishing trips or on vacation. But after 3 months of use my new Gillette MACH3 Turbo has been sent to the Bone Yard, and the Gillette Sensor Excel is now back in front line service. I think I'm going to try the new Gillette Sensor 3. At least I'll be able to use both the Sensor3 and the Sensor Excel Blades if the Sensor3 Blades out to be no big deal. However, if the Sensor3 turns out to be as good at the Sensor Excel, but with 3 blades, I'm sure it will be my new front line razor.

Again Gillett perfect product. Bright color. particularly important in the morning in 7 o'clock's in a bath room. Invigorates and pleases. I know the Atra/ Atra Plus have been around for over 20 years. In retail stores, the price tends to be about $0.80-$1.00 per blade. I have tried the 3 and 4 bladed razors from Gillette and Schick, and even disposables from time to time, but keep coming back to the old reliable Atra Plus. The closeness of the shave, rarity of nicks, etc. are the main attributes. The blades last for 5-6 shaves, so overall it works fine for me. The only problem is that I want to find another heavy handle, but the only ones I seem to find are the lightweight platic ones.
I buy a few packs of these here at Amazon when the price is on sale, and have never been dissapointed.

I have been using the Atra blades for many years. I find that they are dependable and give a good shave. I did try the 3 bladed razors and suffered a lot of irritation. I also am able to manuever the Atra blades to trim my goatee and now use them to shave my head. By the way, Amazon offers a great price.

Another reviewer states that these blades are pretty bad. I DON'T AGREE. I shave my head with Headblade and these things work great!! At a price of $5.99 for 15 blades they are a steal!! If you buy them through any normal retail outlet they will run about $1 per blade or $15-16 for the 15 ct. package. If you shave your head with Headblade don't let this deal pass you by!! Thanks Amazon, you have just saved me over $60 to shave my head for the next year!!
